An augmented reality type specimen that blends print and digital design. I paired a printed book with animated, three-dimensional type, turning a traditional specimen into an experience that extends beyond the page.

Rethink how readers interact with classic and newly released typefaces from Monotype’s library, moving beyond the conventional printed alphabet.
The response
I created a printed specimen with an augmented reality layer. The book provides the editorial structure; its digital counterpart introduces movement, depth and spatial compositions, allowing the letterforms to become something readers can explore.
Print and digital, together
Typographic histories, large letterforms and QR codes sit within the printed spreads. The AR examples extend that material into animated compositions, connecting the physical publication with a modern digital specimen.
